DIFFERENCES BETWEEN VOLLEYBALL AND BADMINTON

We start with the very obvious ones. First, Volleyball uses a ball that players hit with their arms and hands to get the ball to the other side, while badminton uses a shuttlecock, and players employ rackets to deliver the shuttlecock to the other side.

With regard to the courts, Volleyball courts are much wider and longer than that of the Badminton courts.

As to the nets, volleyball nets are longer than badminton nets. Also, the holes in Volleyball nets are a lot bigger than those in the Badminton nets. Badminton nets have smaller holes to prevent the shuttlecock from passing through. Moreover, Volleyball nets attach to their posts in a different way than a Badminton net does. The Volleyball net also requires to be tightened at the top and bottom, while the Badminton net only needs to be held tight at the top.

A volleyball team is generally composed of six (6) players, except for beach volleyball where the standard number of team members is two (2). On the other hand, badminton is played in singles or doubles.

Volleyball requires throwing around your body more for dives, digs, saves, serve and etc., while Badminton requires the players to use their stamina and legs more. Volleyball, as a team game, requires extremely good communication and understanding between 6 or 2 players, as the case may be, while communication is only required in Badminton during doubles.
