University of the Western Cape (UWC) Volleyball Club

To contribute to the holistic development of the students and staff of the University, the University of the Western Cape Sport builds and profiles the image of the University through the support of both competitive and campus recreation sports like Volleyball. They believe that Volleyball represents a huge nation-building opportunity for South Africa and the university is a strategic vehicle to form part of this important transformation process.

UWC-Beach-Volleyball

The UWC Volleyball Club caters for both males and females and is open to non-student volleyball enthusiasts. It is a student-based club which offers wider access to volleyball players from the disadvantaged communities. The club has been a feeder, not only to the University Club but to the community at large. Since the revival of the Club in the early 90’s, UWC Volleyball has produced a number of players who have not only represented their province and South Africa but have also gone on to occupy important administrative and leadership positions in the volleyball administration at different levels.
