How High Should A Volleyball Net Be?
The official height of a volleyball net is a key consideration that affects the style of the volleyball game play.
Despite the different volleyball disciplines, including indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, and sitting volleyball, how the height of the volleyball net is measured remains unchanged.
The regulations state that the height of the net at its middle point must be consistent with the height of the net at either end. In some instances a buffer of 2cm at most is allowed.

Volleyball Net Height for Men’s Indoor & Beach Volleyball
The official Volleyball net height for men’s indoor and beach volleyball is 2.43 meters (7 feet 11.67 inches).
Volleyball Net Height for Women’s Indoor & Beach Volleyball
The official Volleyball net height for women’s indoor and beach volleyball is 2.24 m (7 feet 4.19 inches).
Other Official Volleyball Net Height Requirements
- The posts are 2.55 meters high and are 0.50 to 1 meter from the sideline.
- The Volleyball net is 1 meter high by 9.50 to 10 meters wide.
- The Volleyball net antennas must be flexible and measure 1.8 meters.
- The antennas are fixed to the net over the court’s sidelines.
- The antenna serves to delimit the area where the ball crosses over the net.
